Payload Deck
* The payload deck is a 15cm x 30cm carbon fibre sheet with an anchor hole on each corner. The lines from the corners extend up to a central point where they are attached to the parachute lines and also the balloon main line.
* Below it the antenna ground plate is attached on 4 foam blocks

Pegasus IV was never launched, it had random errors right up until launch and it was decided that it was too risky to launch. The flight computer then returned to its day job as a router. Perhaps one day...
Step 0 - The theory

Being used as the flight computer for HAPS-1
Introduction
For ATLAS Gumstix kindly sent me a protoype of their GoliathGPS-vx board as it has both onboard Ublox GPS and also a Siemens GSM. The advantage for a balloon payload is its all built on so there are fewer wires to come loss and overall is lighter. One of the main problems people have when they starting using a Gumstix is the lack of documentation. The documentation is there but its difficult to find and is especially confusing with the new boards and the new open-embedded development system.
